Verizon Business

Internet Dedicated from 1.5 Mbps to 100 Gbps with a published 100% availability SLA, plus Fios Business fiber in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic and, since January 2026, Frontier's fiber. We quote it for headquarters circuits, smaller Fios sites and wireless backup.

The short answer

Verizon Business sells dedicated and shared internet under different names. Internet Dedicated is a symmetrical, unshared circuit from 1.5 Mbps to 100 Gbps, with a published 100% network availability SLA, a 4-hour time-to-repair standard and SLAs for latency, packet delivery, jitter and voice quality. Fios Business is shared fiber from 300 Mbps to 2 Gbps on a two-year term, with no published uptime SLA. On a 36-month term, Internet Dedicated typically runs $450 to $550 a month at 100 Mbps and $750 to $925 at 1 Gbps, and installs in about eleven weeks.

Carrier overview

What Verizon Business offers

Internet Dedicated is full-time dedicated internet with symmetrical bandwidth from 1.5 Mbps to 100 Gbps over Ethernet or TDM access. Billing can be tiered (a flat monthly fee per bandwidth tier) or burstable (usage-based, at site or aggregate level). Verizon publishes SLAs for availability, latency, packet delivery, jitter, mean opinion score (MOS), time to repair, installation, outage notification and denial-of-service response. Security options include DDoS protection, DNS and RPKI. Dynamic Network Manager lets you raise or lower port speeds on demand, and the service supports IPv4 and IPv6. Verizon lists coverage in over 39 countries, with extended coverage in 34 more.

Fios Business Internet is the shared fiber product in Verizon's Fios footprint: 300 Mbps, 500 Mbps, 1 Gig (940/880 Mbps) and 2 Gig plans. As advertised in October 2026, those run $69 to $179 a month before autopay discounts, on a two-year term that auto-renews, with price locks from one to five years depending on the plan.

Around those sit Ethernet, Private IP, managed SD-WAN, 5G Business Internet and LTE Business Internet. Since January 20, 2026, Verizon also owns Frontier Business, which still sells and bills under the Frontier name.

Where they are strongest

Verizon is strongest where Fios is built: Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia and Washington, D.C. In those markets Verizon is on-net in a large share of commercial buildings, which shortens installs and sharpens dedicated pricing. Our benchmarks put Verizon near the market average at 100 Mbps and below it at 1 Gbps.

Internet Dedicated also has one of the most detailed public SLAs we review, including a 15-minute DoS response commitment and proactive outage notification within 15 minutes. With Frontier added, Verizon's fiber footprint now covers 31 states and Washington, D.C., at roughly 30 million passings.

How we quote them

We quote Verizon Internet Dedicated for headquarters and data-center circuits, Fios Business for smaller sites in Fios markets, and 5G Business Internet as a wireless backup path where coverage supports it. Before a Verizon quote goes next to anyone else's, we confirm:

  • Internet Dedicated or Fios Business. Both run on Verizon fiber. Only one is dedicated, symmetrical and covered by an availability SLA. See Verizon Internet Dedicated vs Fios Business.

  • Tiered or burstable billing. A burstable quote can look cheaper until your 95th-percentile usage lands. We model both against your traffic.

  • Verizon or Frontier. Where both reach the address, we request both. They still quote and contract separately during the integration.

Alternatives

When another carrier fits better

We quote Verizon often, and we also tell clients when it is not the right pick:

  • Outside the Fios footprint. Verizon's dedicated pricing is sharpest where it is on-net. Elsewhere, a carrier already in the building usually wins: AT&T Business in its footprint, Spectrum Business or Comcast Business on cable plant.

  • New York metro buildings where Lightpath is lit. Lightpath is often on-net in the same New Jersey and New York buildings and worth a side-by-side quote.

  • Diversity behind a Verizon primary. A Frontier circuit is now the same company, and 5G Business Internet depends on Verizon's own wireless coverage at your site. For a truly different path, look at a cable carrier or another fiber network. See Your backup circuit is probably on the same fiber path.

  • At 100 Mbps, on price alone. Comcast and Frontier often price below Verizon at 100 Mbps where they are lit.

What the Verizon Internet Dedicated SLA actually says

Verizon publishes its Internet Dedicated Services SLA. These are the clauses we walk every client through:

  • Availability is about the Verizon network. The standard is that the Verizon network will be available 100% of the time. An outage only counts if you open a trouble ticket within 4 hours of becoming aware of it.

  • Availability credits are per hour. For each cumulative hour of unavailability (or part of an hour), you get a pro-rated credit of one day's Verizon monthly recurring charge plus one day of local access line charges. You must request it within 30 days of the outage.

  • Time to repair is 4 hours. The clock starts when the ticket is opened and stops when the circuit is restored. The credit is one day's pro-rated monthly fee, and you cannot claim both an availability credit and a time-to-repair credit for the same event.

  • Performance credits are automatic. Latency (45 ms or less across the contiguous US), packet delivery (99.5% or better) and jitter (1 ms or less) are measured between Verizon hub routers, not to your site, and missing them earns one day's pro-rated charge automatically.

  • Installation. If Verizon misses the install standard (the scheduled date for Ethernet access), the credit is 50% of the billed installation charge.

  • Exclusions. Scheduled maintenance, customer-ordered local circuits, your own equipment and applications, and force majeure do not earn credits. Verizon commits to at least seven days' notice of maintenance.

  • Fios Business auto-renews. The two-year Fios term renews automatically. See Read this before you auto-renew a 36-month term.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Verizon Internet Dedicated cost?

On a 36-month term, Verizon Internet Dedicated typically runs $450 to $550 a month at 100 Mbps and $750 to $925 at 1 Gbps. On-net buildings and longer terms bring it down. Verizon does not publish dedicated pricing; the address decides it.

What is the difference between Verizon Internet Dedicated and Fios Business?

Internet Dedicated is an unshared, symmetrical circuit from 1.5 Mbps to 100 Gbps with a published availability and repair SLA. Fios Business is shared fiber from 300 Mbps to 2 Gbps on a two-year term, with no published uptime SLA. Fios is far cheaper; Internet Dedicated is the one with commitments in writing.

Does Verizon really have a 100% availability SLA?

Verizon publishes a 100% availability standard for its network on Internet Dedicated. If it is missed, you can claim one day's pro-rated charge for each hour of downtime, provided you opened a ticket within 4 hours and request the credit within 30 days. It is a credit schedule, not a promise the circuit never fails.

How long does Verizon dedicated internet take to install?

About eleven weeks is typical across the quotes we benchmark. On-net Fios buildings are often faster; builds take longer. Verizon's SLA credits 50% of the install charge if it misses the scheduled date for Ethernet access.

Is Frontier now part of Verizon Business?

Verizon closed its acquisition of Frontier on January 20, 2026. Frontier still sells, bills and supports its business customers under the Frontier name during the integration, so we quote the two separately where both reach your building.

Where is Verizon Fios Business available?

Fios is available in Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia and Washington, D.C., in areas Verizon has built. Some plans, such as 2 Gig, are limited to select areas. Internet Dedicated is sold nationally.

Is Verizon 5G Business Internet a good backup?

It can be, because it reaches the site over the air instead of through the building's conduit. It depends on Verizon's wireless coverage at your address, and it is the same carrier as a Verizon primary, so we check coverage and weigh a different carrier before recommending it.

What are the best alternatives to Verizon Business?

In Fios markets, Lightpath, Comcast and Spectrum are the most common side-by-side quotes. Outside them, AT&T and the cable carriers usually have the on-net advantage. We quote all of them against Verizon for your address.
