AT&T Business

Dedicated internet from 10 Mbps to 1 Tbps with a 100% availability SLA, plus AT&T Business Fiber for smaller sites. We quote it on every AT&T-serviceable address, direct and through ACC Business.

The short answer

AT&T sells two fiber internet products that buyers often confuse. AT&T Dedicated Internet (ADI) is an unshared, symmetrical circuit from 10 Mbps to 1 Tbps with published SLAs for availability (100%), data delivery (99.95%), latency (37 ms) and jitter (1 ms). AT&T Business Fiber is a lower-cost symmetrical plan up to 5 Gbps with no annual contract and no published uptime percentage. On a 36-month term, ADI typically runs $475 to $575 a month at 100 Mbps and $1,025 to $1,250 at 1 Gbps, above the market average, with about three months to install unless the building is already fiber-ready.

Carrier overview

What AT&T Business offers

AT&T Dedicated Internet is the enterprise product: a dedicated, non-shared connection with symmetrical speeds from 10 Mbps to 1 Tbps, 24/7 proactive monitoring and service level agreements covering availability, data delivery, latency and jitter. AT&T's product brief lists up to five static IP addresses, no-charge cyber threat analysis and automatic trouble tickets as included, with traffic prioritization and wireless backup as add-ons. Equipment can be AT&T-provided or, where eligible, customer-supplied. AT&T Dynamic Defense (a network-embedded firewall) is an optional add-on.

AT&T Business Fiber is the shared fiber product for smaller sites: symmetrical plans from 300 Mbps to 5 Gbps, no annual contract, a Wi-Fi gateway included, and built-in 5G wireless backup on the 1, 2 and 5 Gig plans (it does not work during a power loss). As advertised in October 2026, Business Fiber runs $60 a month at 300 Mbps to $285 a month at 5 Gbps before bundle discounts.

Around those sit AT&T VPN (MPLS), Switched Ethernet, wavelengths, SD-WAN and AT&T Internet Air for Business, a fixed wireless product. The same network products are also sold through ACC Business, AT&T's partner-only brand.

Where they are strongest

AT&T says it has fiber at more than 9 million business locations and can install ADI in as little as 10 to 20 business days at its 3 million fiber-ready business locations. Where the building is one of those, AT&T is often the fastest dedicated install on the shortlist. AT&T's wireline footprint covers 21 states, and its February 2026 purchase of Lumen's Mass Markets fiber business added more than 4 million fiber locations across 11 states.

ADI is also available in Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands and 46 countries, which makes AT&T a natural fit for organizations that want one carrier and one SLA structure across a multinational footprint.

How we quote them

We check AT&T on every address because its fiber-ready status changes the whole shortlist. Before an AT&T quote goes next to anyone else's, we confirm:

  • ADI or Business Fiber. Both are symmetrical fiber, and a 1 Gbps line item can mean either. They differ by roughly an order of magnitude in price and in what the SLA covers.

  • Fiber-ready or a build. AT&T's own brief says fiber-ready locations install in 10 to 20 business days and non-fiber-ready in 30 business days or more. Near-net builds can stretch well past that, so we ask for a construction date in writing.

  • Direct or ACC. We price the same circuit through AT&T direct and through ACC Business, because the two channels can quote differently. See ACC Business vs buying AT&T direct.

If the site cannot tolerate an hour of degraded service, it belongs on ADI. If it can, Business Fiber with its built-in 5G backup is often the better money. We go deeper in AT&T Dedicated Internet vs AT&T Business Fiber.

Alternatives

When another carrier fits better

We quote AT&T on every serviceable address, and we also tell clients when it is not the right pick:

  • Price at 1 Gbps. Our benchmarks put AT&T above the market average at 1 Gbps. Where Verizon Business, Frontier Business or Spectrum Business is on-net, their gigabit quotes usually come in lower.

  • AT&T is not fiber-ready at the address. A carrier already lit in the building usually beats an AT&T build on both time and cost. In the Northeast that is often Verizon or Lightpath; on cable plant, Comcast Business.

  • A diverse backup to an AT&T primary. A second AT&T circuit, direct or through ACC, can share the same entrance and route. See Your backup circuit is probably on the same fiber path.

  • Wavelengths and dark fiber between data centers. Zayo and Lumen are usually stronger long-haul optical options.

Typical pricing

What dedicated internet usually costs here

Typically above the market average at both tiers, most so at 1 Gbps. That is the trade-off for one of the largest on-net footprints in the country. Typical dedicated install is about three months.

Contract notes

AT&T publishes its ADI SLA objectives in the AT&T Business Service Guide and its outage-credit program on its site. The terms we walk clients through:

  • SLA credits are claimed, not automatic. ADI credits are requested through the Service Level Agreement tool in AT&T BusinessDirect, for five metrics: on-time provisioning, site availability and time to restore, data delivery, latency and jitter. For provisioning and availability claims, the tool lets you go back up to three months.

  • Availability claims need a ticket. An availability or time-to-restore credit request requires the AT&T eMaintenance trouble ticket number. Open a ticket for every outage, even short ones.

  • The AT&T Guarantee is separate from the SLA. It covers small business customers on Business Fiber and fiber-based ADI within AT&T's 21-state footprint, for fiber outages longer than 20 minutes. You must redeem the benefit within 30 days of AT&T's email notice, one benefit per circuit per day, and monthly credits cannot exceed what you pay for the internet service. Weather, cut cables at the premises, power loss and planned maintenance are excluded.

  • Business Fiber has no annual contract. That makes it easy to leave, and also means its price is not locked.

  • The service guide on your order controls. Ask for the version referenced on your order before you sign.

Frequently asked questions

How much does AT&T Dedicated Internet cost?

On a 36-month term, AT&T Dedicated Internet typically runs $475 to $575 a month at 100 Mbps and $1,025 to $1,250 at 1 Gbps. Fiber-ready buildings, longer terms and competitive pressure at the address can bring it down. AT&T does not publish ADI pricing; the address decides it.

What is the difference between AT&T Dedicated Internet and AT&T Business Fiber?

ADI is an unshared circuit with a published SLA for availability, data delivery, latency and jitter, from 10 Mbps to 1 Tbps. Business Fiber is a shared, symmetrical fiber plan up to 5 Gbps with no annual contract and no published uptime percentage. That is why a 1 Gbps ADI circuit can cost several times a 1 Gbps Business Fiber plan.

Does AT&T Dedicated Internet have a 100% uptime SLA?

AT&T publishes a 100% availability objective for ADI, along with 99.95% data delivery, 37 ms or less US latency and 1 ms or less jitter. Missing an objective earns a service credit that you request through AT&T BusinessDirect. It does not mean the circuit cannot go down.

How long does AT&T Dedicated Internet take to install?

AT&T says fiber-ready locations can install in 10 to 20 business days and non-fiber-ready locations in 30 business days or more. Across the quotes we benchmark, about three months is typical once construction is involved. If you have a hard date, tell us up front.

What is the AT&T Guarantee for Business?

It is AT&T's outage-credit program for small business customers on Business Fiber and fiber-based Dedicated Internet in its 21-state footprint. Fiber outages over 20 minutes qualify. You redeem the benefit within 30 days of AT&T's email notice, and monthly credits are capped at what you pay for the service.

Is ACC Business the same as AT&T?

ACC Business is an AT&T brand that sells AT&T network services, including Dedicated Internet, only through solution providers. The network and SLAs are AT&T's; the channel, pricing and support line differ. We quote both so you can compare.

Does AT&T Business Fiber include backup?

The 1, 2 and 5 Gig Business Fiber plans include built-in 5G wireless backup through the AT&T gateway. It does not work during a power outage at your site, and static IPs do not fail over to the 5G backup.

What are the best alternatives to AT&T Dedicated Internet?

It depends on who is lit in your building. Verizon, Frontier and Spectrum often price lower at 1 Gbps where they are on-net, Comcast covers more suburban sites on coax, and Lumen and Zayo are strong on long-haul optical. We quote all of them against AT&T for your address.
