Spectrum Business

Dedicated Fiber Internet up to 100 Gbps with a published 100% uptime SLA and a 3-hour mean time to restore, from Charter's business unit, now spanning a 45-state footprint after the Cox transaction. One of the sharper gigabit quotes we see where it is on-net.

The short answer

Spectrum Business (Charter's business unit, formerly marketed to larger customers as Spectrum Enterprise) sells three internet products that are easy to confuse: Fiber-Powered Internet, which is shared broadband delivered over coax; Enterprise Internet, with download speeds up to 1 Gbps and a 99.9% uptime SLA; and Dedicated Fiber Internet, a symmetrical all-fiber circuit up to 100 Gbps with a 100% uptime SLA and service credits. On a 36-month term, Dedicated Fiber Internet typically runs $475 to $575 a month at 100 Mbps and $700 to $850 at 1 Gbps, with about ten weeks to install. At a gigabit, that is usually below the market average where Spectrum is already lit.

Carrier overview

What Spectrum Business offers

Spectrum Dedicated Fiber Internet is a 100% fiber connection with dedicated, symmetrical bandwidth up to 100 Gbps on a private network, installed and managed into your suite. Spectrum publishes a 100% uptime SLA with service credits that also covers packet-handling performance and restoration time, with a three-hour mean time to restore. The 100% uptime SLA applies only to Dedicated Fiber Internet, Secure Dedicated Fiber Internet, Ethernet Services, Cloud Connect and Enterprise Trunking.

Two other internet products sit under the same brand:

  • Enterprise Internet delivers download speeds up to 1 Gbps with a 99.9% uptime SLA and, per Spectrum's tech spec, a 6-hour mean time to restore. Dynamic addressing is standard; static IPv4 is a paid add-on.

  • Fiber-Powered Internet is small-business broadband that Spectrum says is "powered by fiber and connected to the premises by coaxial lines," with shared bandwidth. It is advertised at $65 a month for up to 500 Mbps, $95 for up to 750 Mbps and $115 for up to 2 Gbps in select markets (as advertised, October 2026). No SLA is listed.

The same account can add Ethernet, Cloud Connect, managed network edge and WiFi, security and voice. Spectrum also markets Spectrum AI Accelerator for AI workloads.

Where they are strongest

Spectrum's fiber reaches a very large number of commercial buildings: its product page cites more than 245,000 fiber route miles and more than 317,000 fiber-lit buildings. Where it is already in the building, its gigabit dedicated pricing sits well below the market average, and it regularly makes the national carriers sharpen their numbers.

The published SLA is the other strength. A 100% uptime commitment with a stated mean time to restore is stronger on paper than most cable competitors, and Spectrum says it covers every location on the account. With the Cox transaction closed in August 2026, Charter now describes a 45-state Spectrum footprint, though the former Cox plant will take time to show up as one product line.

How we quote them

We quote Spectrum on most addresses in its footprint, and we check three things first:

  • Which product is on the quote. "Fiber," "Enterprise Internet" and "Dedicated Fiber Internet" are three different services. A low number for "Spectrum fiber" is often Fiber-Powered Internet, which is coax to the building and has no SLA.

  • Whether the 100% SLA applies. It covers Dedicated Fiber Internet and a few other named services, not Enterprise Internet (99.9%) or broadband. We confirm which SLA attaches to the order.

  • On-net status. Spectrum's sharp gigabit pricing depends on fiber already being in the building. Off-net or near-net, the quote and the interval change.

If the site cannot go down, Dedicated Fiber Internet is the product. If it is a small branch that can ride out a slow afternoon, Fiber-Powered Internet is often the right money. We walk through the decision in Spectrum Dedicated Fiber Internet vs Fiber-Powered Internet.

Alternatives

When another carrier fits better

  • You are in a Comcast market too. Where both are on-net, put them side by side. Comcast Business publishes a 99.99% SLA and full contract terms. See Comcast Business vs Spectrum Business for dedicated internet.

  • You want an independent backup in a former Cox market. Cox Business is now part of the same company, so pair Spectrum with a telco or fiber carrier such as AT&T Business, Lumen or Zayo.

  • International sites on one contract. Verizon Business sells dedicated internet in over 39 countries. Spectrum is a US network.

  • New York metro buildings where a fiber specialist is lit. Lightpath and Verizon Business are often already in the building in Manhattan, Long Island and New Jersey.

  • Spectrum has to build. A carrier already on-net usually beats a Spectrum build on interval, and often on price at 100 Mbps, where Spectrum sits a little above average.

Typical pricing

What dedicated internet usually costs here

A little above the market average at 100 Mbps but well below it at 1 Gbps, which makes Spectrum one of the sharper gigabit quotes where it is on-net. Typical dedicated install is around ten weeks.

Contract notes

What Spectrum publishes, and what it does not

  • SLA scope. The 100% uptime SLA covers Dedicated Fiber Internet, Secure Dedicated Fiber Internet, Ethernet Services, Cloud Connect and Enterprise Trunking only. Enterprise Internet carries 99.9%.

  • Credits. Spectrum says remedies range up to 100% of the monthly service cost, but the credit schedule is not posted on its site. Ask for it with the quote.

  • Speed commitment on Enterprise Internet. Spectrum's Enterprise Internet attachment says it uses "commercially reasonable efforts" to achieve the selected speed and that throughput may vary.

  • Static IPs. On Enterprise Internet, cancelling the internet service also terminates the static IP service, and termination charges follow the service agreement.

Auto-renewal and early termination terms sit in the service agreement, not the product pages. See Read this before you auto-renew a 36-month term.

Frequently asked questions

Is Spectrum Business the same as Spectrum Enterprise?

They are the same company. Spectrum Enterprise was the name Charter used for larger customers; Charter combined Spectrum Enterprise and Business sales and operations in December 2024, and Spectrum's current pages market everything as Spectrum Business, with "Spectrum Business for enterprise" for larger accounts. Older contracts and PDFs still say Spectrum Enterprise.

What is the difference between Spectrum Dedicated Fiber Internet and Fiber-Powered Internet?

Fiber-Powered Internet is shared small-business broadband delivered to the building over coax, up to 2 Gbps in select markets, with no SLA listed. Dedicated Fiber Internet is an all-fiber, symmetrical circuit up to 100 Gbps with a 100% uptime SLA and service credits. The price gap reflects that difference.

How much does Spectrum dedicated fiber internet cost?

On a 36-month term, Spectrum Dedicated Fiber Internet typically runs $475 to $575 a month at 100 Mbps and $700 to $850 at 1 Gbps. Spectrum does not publish dedicated pricing. On-net status and term length drive the number.

What does Spectrum's 100% uptime SLA actually cover?

It applies to Dedicated Fiber Internet, Secure Dedicated Fiber Internet, Ethernet Services, Cloud Connect and Enterprise Trunking, and pays service credits for interruptions. Spectrum also states a three-hour mean time to restore. Enterprise Internet is covered at 99.9%, and broadband has no SLA listed.

How long does a Spectrum dedicated fiber install take?

About ten weeks is typical. Where Spectrum fiber is already in the building, it can be faster; where it needs to build, permits and construction add time. If you have a hard move-in date, tell us up front.

Is Cox Business part of Spectrum now?

Yes. Charter completed its transaction with Cox Communications on August 20, 2026, and says Spectrum Business is being combined with Cox Business, including Segra and RapidScale. For redundancy planning, treat them as one carrier.

Does Spectrum Enterprise Internet include static IPs?

Not by default. Spectrum's tech spec says dynamic addressing is included and a static IPv4 block is a paid add-on, limited to one block per router. Ask for the block size you need on the quote.
