FiberLight
A fiber-infrastructure company first: dark fiber, wavelengths, Ethernet and dedicated internet over its own network, with deep routes across Texas and to the US-Mexico border. We bring it in for data center, tower and high-capacity work, not for a typical single office circuit.
The short answer
FiberLight is a Texas-headquartered fiber builder that sells dark fiber and lit services (dedicated internet, Ethernet, wavelengths, data center connectivity and wireless backhaul) over a network it reports at 20,000+ route miles, 280 serviceable data centers and 1,900+ towers. Its dedicated internet runs from 10 Mbps to 10 Gbps and higher, and its protected circuits carry a published 99.99% network availability commitment with outage credits after 10 minutes. FiberLight is strongest on data-center-to-data-center routes, tower backhaul, rural Texas and cross-border traffic into Mexico. For a single office outside its lit buildings, a carrier already in the building is usually the better quote.

Carrier overview
What FiberLight offers
FiberLight sells two kinds of product. The first is dark fiber: strands you light with your own equipment, sold mostly to carriers, hyperscalers, wireless operators and large enterprises. The second is lit service over the same network: Dedicated Internet Access, Ethernet, wavelengths, data center connectivity, Cloud Connect and wireless backhaul.
Its dedicated internet is symmetrical, runs from 10 Mbps to 10 Gbps and higher, supports default or BGP routing with IPv4 and IPv6, and is fed by multiple Tier 1 upstream providers. FiberLight's business fiber page lists standard tiers of 100 Mbps, 500 Mbps, 1, 2, 5 and 10 Gbps, and protected configurations with automatic failover to the nearest IP gateway. Its data center brief lists interfaces at 1, 10, 100 and 400 Gbps. At its border data centers, FiberLight lists DIA and Ethernet up to 100G and wavelengths at 10G, 100G and 400G.
FiberLight reports a network of 3 million fiber miles, 20,000+ route miles, 300,000 pre-qualified buildings, 280 serviceable data centers and 1,900+ towers. It is headquartered in Allen, Texas, and has been owned since 2023 by a consortium led by Morrison.
Where they are strongest
Texas, including the places national carriers thin out. FiberLight connects Dallas, Austin, San Antonio and Houston and ties them to a western Texas network and smaller rural communities. In March 2026 it announced a $350 million, roughly 1,400 route-mile West Texas expansion aimed at hyperscale and AI data center demand, which brings its West Texas fiber investment to nearly $500 million over the past year. Construction has started; FiberLight expects portions within six months and the full build in just under two years.
US-Mexico traffic. FiberLight is on-net at cross-border data centers in El Paso, Eagle Pass, Laredo, McAllen and Brownsville, with interconnection to Mexican carriers and multiple routes back to Dallas and other metros.
Data centers and towers. With 280 serviceable data centers and 1,900+ towers on its stated footprint, FiberLight is a natural shortlist pick for data-center-to-data-center links, tower backhaul and diverse routes that avoid the incumbent telco and cable plant. FiberLight says its newer routes are built diverse from ILEC and cable networks. We go deeper in FiberLight for data center and tower connectivity.
Virginia and the DC region. FiberLight has long run metro fiber in Northern Virginia and Washington, DC. In 2025 it agreed to acquire Metro Fiber Networks, which adds a conduit and fiber route from the Virginia Beach cable landing station to Richmond.
How we quote them
We bring FiberLight in for high-capacity circuits, dark fiber, wavelengths, diverse routes in its footprint, and education, government and rural networks, which are customer groups FiberLight names on its own DIA page. For a single 1 Gbps office circuit outside its lit buildings, we usually look elsewhere first.
Before a FiberLight quote goes next to anyone else's, we confirm:
Lit, near-net or build. "Pre-qualified building" means FiberLight can likely serve it, not that fiber is already inside. The answer decides both price and timeline.
Protected or unprotected. The 99.99% availability commitment and 10-minute credit trigger apply to protected circuits. We make sure the circuit you sign is the one the SLA covers.
Which route. For data center and tower work, the route matters as much as the price. We ask for the path and check it against your other circuits so two carriers do not share the same conduit.

Alternatives
When another carrier fits better
A single office in a building FiberLight has not lit. A carrier already on-net, such as AT&T Business, Spectrum Business or Comcast Business, will usually install faster and price lower.
Business internet in a Texas office tower. LOGIX Fiber Networks focuses on lit commercial buildings in Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin and San Antonio, and sells to the office tenant rather than the network builder.
Many sites across the country on one contract. Lumen, AT&T Business and Verizon Business cover far more of the map. Granite aggregates many small sites.
Long-haul waves or dark fiber outside FiberLight's routes. Zayo and Lumen run national backbones and are usually the comparison quotes.
Cheap transit at a data center. If you are already in a carrier hotel and only need IP transit, Cogent is usually the price benchmark. See IP transit.

Frequently asked questions
What does FiberLight sell?
Dark fiber, plus lit services over its own network: Dedicated Internet Access, Ethernet, wavelengths, data center connectivity, Cloud Connect and wireless backhaul. Most of its revenue comes from carriers, hyperscalers and large enterprises, but it does sell dedicated internet to individual businesses, schools and local governments.
Where does FiberLight have fiber?
FiberLight's deepest network is in Texas: the Dallas, Austin, San Antonio and Houston metros, a western Texas network that is expanding toward El Paso, and on-net data centers along the US-Mexico border. It also runs fiber in Northern Virginia and Washington, DC. Send us the address and we will confirm whether a building is lit, near-net or a build.
What SLA does FiberLight offer?
FiberLight publishes a 99.99% network availability commitment on protected circuits, with outage credits that start after 10 minutes. Its main DIA page does not list latency or credit percentages, so we ask for the SLA attachment with every quote and check which circuits it covers.
How fast is FiberLight dedicated internet?
FiberLight sells symmetrical DIA from 10 Mbps to 10 Gbps and higher, with standard tiers of 100 Mbps, 500 Mbps, 1, 2, 5 and 10 Gbps. At its cross-border data centers it lists DIA and Ethernet up to 100G and wavelengths up to 400G.
Is FiberLight good for data center connectivity?
Often, yes. FiberLight reports 280 serviceable data centers and sells dark fiber, 10G to 400G wavelengths and Ethernet between them. It is one of the first carriers we check for Texas data center routes and US-Mexico traffic, and we compare it against national backbones on price and path.
Does FiberLight sell dark fiber to enterprises?
Yes. Dark fiber is FiberLight's original business, and it sells it to enterprises as well as carriers and hyperscalers. Dark fiber is a long commitment with your own optics and operations, so we usually price it next to a lit wavelength before you decide.
Is FiberLight a good choice for a single office?
Only if FiberLight already serves the building. For a typical office circuit, a carrier with fiber in the building usually installs faster and costs less. Where FiberLight is lit, it is a credible quote, particularly if you want a path that avoids the incumbent telco.
