Dedicated Ethernet up to 100 Gbps through 70+ provider partners and its own on-net network, with one contract, one bill and one support desk across the US and Canada. We quote it on most multi-site requests.

The short answer

Granite Telecommunications is a Quincy, Massachusetts aggregator that manages about 1.75 million voice and data lines across roughly 700,000 locations. It sells dedicated Ethernet up to 100 Gbps through its own on-net network and 70+ partner carriers, plus broadband, fixed wireless, Starlink and its EPIK POTS replacement, all on one bill. On a 36-month term, Granite dedicated internet typically runs $475 to $575 a month at 100 Mbps and $975 to $1,200 at 1 Gbps, above the market average, with installs around ten weeks. The premium buys one contract and one escalation path for many sites; for a single circuit, the underlying carrier direct is often cheaper.

Carrier overview

What Granite offers

Granite sells access, voice and managed services to multi-location businesses and government agencies across the US and Canada. On the data side, that means dedicated Ethernet from Fast Ethernet up to 100 Gbps, delivered on Granite's own on-net network or through more than 70 dedicated Ethernet providers off-net. On-net service includes Granite's FlexEdge device.

Its broadband product draws on 30+ fiber providers, 20+ cable providers and 15+ DSL providers, with fiber up to 5 Gbps, cable up to 2 Gbps down and 200 Mbps up, plus fixed wireless and satellite. Since January 2025, Granite has been an authorized Starlink reseller in the US and Canada, pairing each kit with its edgebootPro managed power unit for monitoring and automated failover.

Granite's best-known product is EPIK, a managed POTS replacement for fire alarms, security alarms, elevator phones, blue light boxes, SCADA, door and gate phones and fax. EPIK runs over the site's wired internet with 4G LTE backup, is positioned as an NFPA 72 managed facilities-based voice network, and is sold as a monthly subscription per port on a 36-month minimum term.

Managed SD-WAN and SASE, cloud voice, mobile voice and data, asset monitoring and field services sit on top, with consolidated invoicing for every location.

Where they are strongest

  • Hundreds or thousands of sites. Granite says it serves 85+ of the Fortune 100. If you are rolling out to every store, branch or clinic in North America, few providers have done it at this scale.

  • POTS retirement at scale. EPIK is built for life-safety and specialty lines, and Granite positions it as a managed facilities-based voice network for fire alarm use.

  • Mixed access with one owner. Fiber at headquarters, cable at branches, Starlink at rural sites, LTE backup everywhere, under one contract and one NOC.

How we quote them

Granite appears on most of our multi-site quotes. Per-site pricing is often competitive with local carriers on broadband, and the main advantage is one contract and one support desk across many sites. Before a Granite quote goes next to anyone else's, we confirm:

  • On-net or off-net, per site. Granite's 99.99% SLA applies to its on-net circuits. Off-net, uptime follows the partner carrier at that address, so we name the underlying carrier on every line.

  • The underlying carrier's own price. For a single headquarters fiber circuit, we quote that carrier direct alongside Granite so you can see what the managed wrapper costs.

  • EPIK term and port count. EPIK is billed per port on a 36-month minimum. We count every analog line (alarm panel, elevator, fax) before pricing, so the port count is right on day one.

Alternatives

When another carrier fits better

  • One fiber circuit at 1 Gbps or more. Granite's 1 Gbps benchmark sits above the market average. Lumen, Verizon Business or Comcast Business direct is often less where they are on-net.

  • A smaller multi-site footprint. For a few dozen sites, BCN Telecom offers the same one-bill model with a smaller account team. See Granite vs BCN Telecom for multi-site aggregation.

  • International sites. Granite covers the US and Canada. Momentum markets reach in 80+ countries.

  • Private cloud on-ramps. For AWS, Azure or Google interconnect from a data center, Megaport is purpose-built.

Contract notes

Granite does not post a full dedicated Ethernet service guide publicly. What its own published material does state:

  • EPIK term and billing. EPIK is a subscription billed per EPIK port, with a 36-month minimum term and no hardware purchase. Local and long-distance usage is not charged under normal circumstances.

  • IP blocks on on-net orders. Any IP block larger than a /30 on an on-net dedicated Ethernet order needs an IP justification form before the order completes. Send it with the order, not after, or the install can stall.

  • Off-net SLA. Granite's 99.99% uptime SLA covers its on-net services; off-net uptime matches the partner carrier, as reported by Lightyear. Ask for the SLA schedule for each site in writing.

Frequently asked questions

Is Granite a carrier or an aggregator?

Both. Granite runs its own on-net network and also resells access from 70+ dedicated Ethernet partners and dozens of broadband providers. Most multi-site customers end up with a mix, all on one Granite contract and bill.

How much does Granite dedicated internet cost?

On a 36-month term, Granite typically runs $475 to $575 a month at 100 Mbps and $975 to $1,200 at 1 Gbps. That is above the market average, especially at 1 Gbps. The address, term and on-net status set the real number.

What SLA does Granite offer?

Granite's on-net circuits carry a 99.99% uptime SLA. Off-net circuits follow the SLA of the partner carrier at that site, so a cable or wireless location will not match a dedicated fiber site. Ask for the SLA by site before you sign.

What is Granite EPIK?

EPIK is Granite's managed replacement for analog copper lines used by fire alarms, elevators, security panels, fax and other specialty devices. It runs over the site's internet with 4G LTE backup and is sold per port on a 36-month minimum term.

How long does a Granite install take?

About ten weeks is typical for dedicated internet. Broadband and wireless can be faster or slower depending on the underlying provider at the address. Starlink and fixed wireless are the usual answers when a site needs service quickly.

Does Granite sell Starlink?

Yes. Granite became an authorized Starlink reseller in January 2025 for businesses in the US and Canada. It bundles each kit with a managed power unit and its monitoring, for primary or backup use.

Granite or BCN Telecom for a multi-site network?

Both aggregate many carriers under one contract and one bill. Granite is far larger, with its own on-net network and Fortune-scale rollouts; BCN is smaller and privately held. We quote both. See Granite vs BCN Telecom for multi-site aggregation.

Is Granite cheaper than buying direct?

Not usually for a single large circuit, where our benchmark puts Granite above market at 1 Gbps. Across many sites, the savings come from fewer contracts, one bill and less staff time, not from the per-circuit rate. See One aggregator contract or direct carrier contracts for 50+ locations.
