Aggregator

Momentum

A global aggregator that sources internet, Ethernet and wireless from 750+ carriers in 80+ countries and manages it, with SD-WAN and Teams voice, under one contract. We quote it for multi-country and multi-site networks.

The short answer

Momentum is a network aggregator and managed service provider, not a last-mile carrier. It sources dedicated internet, broadband, Layer 2 Ethernet, 5G and satellite from 750+ carriers across 80+ countries, manages SD-WAN on Juniper, Cisco Meraki, Arista or Cato, connects to AWS and Azure, and sells Microsoft Teams calling through Operator Connect. It suits mid-market and enterprise companies with sites in several countries that want one contract, one bill and one NOC. For a single US fiber circuit, the underlying carrier direct is usually the simpler buy, so we quote both.

Carrier overview

What Momentum offers

Momentum's connectivity portfolio covers dedicated internet access, business broadband (cable, fiber and fixed wireless), high-capacity IP transit, Layer 2 Ethernet (point-to-point, VPLS, EVPN, VXLAN), dark fiber and point-to-point up to 800 Gbps, 5G and fixed wireless, low Earth orbit satellite and custom low-latency builds. It markets 750+ carrier and service provider relationships, 200+ points of presence and 80+ countries served, with 30,000+ enterprise locations on its network.

On top of access, Momentum runs managed SD-WAN and SASE on Juniper, Cisco Meraki, Arista or Cato, monitors every circuit 24x7x365 from its NOC with its own network interface devices, and shows underlay and overlay in one Global Control Portal. Cloud connectivity includes Azure ExpressRoute, AWS Direct Connect and a cloud exchange product.

Voice is the other half of the company. Momentum launched Operator Connect for Microsoft Teams in April 2024, acquired Netherlands-based Horizon Telecom in January 2024 for its European voice platform, and in June 2026 extended Teams Operator Connect to 27 European countries.

Where they are strongest

  • Sites in several countries. One contract and one escalation path across the US, Europe and beyond, instead of a local carrier per country.

  • Teams-centric companies. Teams calling through Operator Connect, managed in the Teams Admin Center, alongside the network on the same account.

  • Managed SD-WAN on your preferred platform. Four platforms supported, so you are not forced onto the provider's single choice.

  • Mid-market IT teams. A monitored, managed underlay and overlay for a company that does not want to run a NOC.

How we quote them

We bring Momentum in for multi-country or multi-site requirements, or when SD-WAN and voice should sit under one contract. Before a Momentum quote goes next to anyone else's, we confirm:

  • The underlying carrier at each site. It sets speed, install time and real reliability. We name it per line so you can compare against buying it direct.

  • The SLA schedule in writing. Momentum's site references a published SLA on dedicated Ethernet but does not post the terms. We get the availability, repair and credit terms with the quote, per access type and per country.

  • What is managed. Monitoring, SD-WAN management and hardware can be bundled or separate. We make sure two quotes cover the same scope before comparing price.

For a single US fiber circuit, we usually quote the underlying carrier direct.

Alternatives

When another carrier fits better

  • US and Canada only. Granite and BCN Telecom run the same one-bill model for North American footprints. See Granite vs BCN Telecom for multi-site aggregation.

  • A single high-capacity circuit. Buy direct from the carrier in the building: Lumen, Zayo, Verizon Business or AT&T Business.

  • Multicloud interconnect from a data center. Megaport is built for self-service cloud on-ramps across many clouds.

  • Global MPLS or WAN from a facilities-based carrier. Verizon Business, AT&T Business and Lumen own international networks and sell them direct.

Frequently asked questions

Is Momentum a carrier or an aggregator?

Momentum is an aggregator and managed service provider. It sources access from 750+ carriers and service providers and runs its own NOC, portal and voice platform on top. The last-mile circuit at each site belongs to the underlying carrier.

What countries does Momentum cover?

Momentum markets global internet in 80+ countries, with 200+ points of presence. Its site names regions including the US, Canada, Brazil, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. Confirm coverage for each address, since reach varies by access type.

Which SD-WAN platforms does Momentum manage?

Juniper, Cisco Meraki, Arista and Cato, with Cato converged SASE available and Check Point listed as coming soon. Momentum's engineers implement, manage and support each deployment.

Does Momentum offer Microsoft Teams calling?

Yes. Momentum sells Operator Connect for Microsoft Teams, launched in April 2024, and in June 2026 extended it to 27 European countries. One Teams tenant can mix Operator Connect regions with Direct Routing.

What SLA does Momentum offer?

Momentum lists a published SLA for dedicated Ethernet but does not post the terms on its website. Uptime at broadband, wireless or satellite sites will follow the underlying service. Ask for the SLA schedule per site and country before you sign.

Can Momentum connect us to AWS or Azure?

Yes. Momentum sells Azure ExpressRoute, AWS Direct Connect and a cloud exchange product alongside its managed network. If you connect to several clouds from a data center, compare it against Megaport.
