LOGIX Fiber Networks

A Texas-only business fiber network serving Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin and San Antonio, with dedicated internet up to 10 Gbps, Ethernet, wavelengths, cloud connect, SASE and business voice. In buildings it already lights, it is one of the first quotes we pull.

The short answer

LOGIX Fiber Networks is a Houston-based fiber carrier that sells only in Texas, focused on commercial buildings in Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin and San Antonio. Its dedicated internet is symmetrical up to 10 Gbps, and it reports about 7,000 route miles, 25,000 on-net and near-net buildings and nearly 100 third-party on-net data centers. If your sites are all in its Texas metros and LOGIX is in the building, it belongs on the shortlist; outside Texas, or across many states, a national carrier fits better.

Carrier overview

What LOGIX Fiber Networks offers

LOGIX sells to Texas businesses and to other carriers. On the business side: Business Internet (dedicated, symmetrical, scalable up to 10 Gbps, with multiple fiber rings in its major markets and diverse Tier 1 peering), Business Ethernet for site-to-site private networks, Business Wavelength, Cloud Connect to the major public clouds, SD-WAN and SASE, and Business Voice and Business Voice Cloud (hosted PBX). It also runs its own data centers in its Texas metros.

On the wholesale side, LOGIX sells wavelengths, metro Ethernet, fiber internet, dark fiber and wireless backhaul to other carriers.

LOGIX's February 2024 corporate overview reports about 300,000 fiber miles, 7,000 route miles, 25,000 on-net and near-net buildings, nearly 100 third-party on-net data centers and nearly 10,000 enterprise and carrier customers, with long-haul routes to the Texas border. It says it has served Texas customers for over 40 years and runs a Texas-based network operations center and customer support team.

Where they are strongest

Multi-tenant office buildings in its four metros. LOGIX's network is built around commercial buildings in Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin and San Antonio. Where it already lights the building, there is no construction, which is usually where a regional carrier wins on both price and time to install.

Texas data center reach. With nearly 100 third-party data centers on-net in Texas plus its own facilities, LOGIX is a practical choice for connecting an office to colocation or cloud on-ramps in the same metro.

Local support. LOGIX's support and NOC are in Texas. For a single-state company that wants to reach the same team every time, that matters.

How we quote them

For Texas addresses in its metros, we check LOGIX's lit-building list first. Outside its metros or outside Texas, we look elsewhere.

Before a LOGIX quote goes next to anyone else's, we confirm:

  • On-net or near-net. LOGIX reports on-net and near-net buildings as one number. Near-net means a lateral build, which changes the timeline and usually the price.

  • Promotion versus list. We compare the discounted LOGIX rate with the other carriers' quotes on the same term, and we check what the rate becomes at renewal.

  • The written SLA. LOGIX's public pages describe availability and a quality-of-service SLA but do not publish credit terms. We ask for the SLA attachment with every quote.

Alternatives

When another carrier fits better

  • Sites outside Texas. LOGIX does not sell outside the state. For multi-state footprints, AT&T Business, Lumen and Verizon Business cover far more ground on one contract. We compare AT&T and LOGIX side by side in LOGIX vs AT&T for dedicated internet in Texas.

  • Texas addresses outside its four metros. In smaller Texas markets, the incumbent telco or cable carrier is usually closer. Spectrum Business and Comcast Business are often in the building.

  • Data center to data center or long-haul Texas routes. FiberLight and Zayo sell dark fiber and high-capacity waves across Texas and are the usual comparison for that work.

  • You want a 100% availability SLA in writing. AT&T publishes a 100% availability SLA on its dedicated internet. Ask LOGIX what its written SLA covers before you compare.

  • A cheap diverse backup. A cable broadband or coax circuit from a different carrier is often the lower-cost second path. See backup connectivity.

Frequently asked questions

Where does LOGIX Fiber Networks offer service?

LOGIX sells business fiber only in Texas, concentrated in Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin and San Antonio, with long-haul routes to the Texas border. Send us the address and we will check whether the building is on-net, near-net or not served.

How fast is LOGIX dedicated internet?

LOGIX sells symmetrical dedicated internet scalable up to 10 Gbps, with equal upload and download speeds. It also sells Ethernet and wavelengths when you need private connections between sites or to a data center.

How much does LOGIX dedicated internet cost?

LOGIX does not publish list prices, and we quote it per address. Its sharpest pricing is usually in buildings it already lights, where there is no construction cost to recover.

Is LOGIX cheaper than AT&T?

Sometimes, in buildings LOGIX already lights. AT&T is often on-net in the same buildings, and the price depends on term and address. We put both on the same term and compare the total over the contract, not the first month.

What SLA does LOGIX offer?

LOGIX's product sheet cites 99.999% availability for its core backbone and fiber rings and mentions a quality-of-service SLA, but its public pages do not publish credit terms. Ask for the SLA attachment before signing, and check how credits are claimed.

Is LOGIX Fiber Networks the same as LOGIX Communications?

Yes. LOGIX Communications renamed itself LOGIX Fiber Networks in 2018 after it bought Alpheus Communications, another Texas fiber carrier. Older contracts and invoices may still show either name.

Does LOGIX sell business phone service?

Yes. LOGIX sells Business Voice and Business Voice Cloud, a hosted PBX. We can quote voice alongside dedicated internet when a single Texas provider for both makes sense.
